California Pastor Will Not Be Banned From Pro-Life Protests

by CitizenLink Staff

A judge has thrown out a request to permanently ban the Reverend Walter Hoye, an African-American pastor from Berkeley, Calif,, from coming anywhere near the Family Planning Specialists abortion clinic in Oakland.

The Alameda County district attorney had requested that Hoye be banned from within 100 yards of the clinic.

Hoye’s attorney, Mike Millen, who is affiliated with the Life Legal Defense Foundation, said it appears the city wanted to take away Hoye’s constitutional rights.

“The judge did not agree with the district attorney and denied the motion,” he said.  “That’s good news for Walter Hoye and all who care about innocent life in the womb.”

Hoye said he never wanted the focus to be on him.

“I’m excited about it,” he said.  “It frees me to focus on the mission at hand.  I honestly feel that the Lord has brought us a tremendous victory.”
