Focus on the Family is helping match kids in the foster-care system with forever families. It’s called the Orphan Care Initiative and stems from the heart of Focus President Jim Daly.
“My mom died when I was nine. My stepdad left the day of the funeral,” he said. “My biological father came back into my life, and then he passed away within about a year and a half.”
Focus organizes Wait No More events to bring churches together with state and local adoption agencies to find families for kids in the foster system.
“I’m looking forward to the day,” Daly said, “when that headline will read, ‘No More Waiting List of Kids, Christian Church Wipes Out Adoption Roll.’”
