Mobile Clinic Provides Alternative to Abortion

by Kim Trobee

Evangelist Dave Wilkinson takes a converted RV into some of Los Angeles’ poorest neighborhoods each week in an effort to fight abortion.

The RV is equipped as a mobile pregnancy resource center offering women free ultrasounds and alternatives to abortion.

Wilkinson told the Los Angeles Times that the mobile clinic also offers him a chance to share his faith.

“It can be a real catalyst for people finding God, or re-finding God,” he said.  “Because of the crisis they’re in, they’re more open — and that’s when we introduce God.”

The clinic operates with volunteers, many of whom are nurses.  Stephanie Loring is a 22-year-old home-care nurse who works in the RV two days a week.

“We want to educate them so they can see for themselves the miracle that this is,” she said.  “It’s a way that I can serve the Lord.”
