The National Organization for Marriage (NOM) is on a month-long, 23-city “Summer of Marriage” bus tour – to protect and promote marriage as being between one man and one woman.
The next stop on the tour schedule will be Friday in Columbus, Ohio.
At each stop, gay activists have aggressively protested and tried to intimidate the peaceful supporters – going so far as to storm podiums, block attendees and even intimidate a nursing mother.
Brian Brown, NOM’s executive director, blogged about the outrageous antics.
“Great turnout both places, with around 100 supporters in Albany on Saturday, and more than 200 on Sunday in Providence. But it was the protestors who turned out that really made things memorable. They like to cloak themselves in the color of the rainbow, but they sure showed their true colors as intolerant, inconsiderate bullies who shout down and insult anyone who disagrees with them, including women and children. ”
Organizers and participants have said they will not be shaken, and are encouraging people of all ages to attend.
“We need to have good attendance,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse of the Ruth Institute. “It’s very important that (they) stand up for the family.”
