American families need relief; Extending tax breaks is one answer

We’ve said it before; American families need some relief.  Extending the Bush era tax breaks—especially the marriage penalty ban and the child tax credit–could go a long way toward helping families meet felt needs.

The financial outlook for upcoming generations is more negative than most previous Americans have experienced.  And President Obama can talk about how he inherited the financial mess, but it doesn’t change the fact that together with this Congress, the president has increased the debt and tax burden.

The president has said that the unpopular spending was necessary.  Perhaps.  But in the meantime, wouldn’t it make sense to send a cool financial breeze to hardworking families?

The president has made no secret that he wants to tax the rich and spread wealth to the poor.  But if the tax breaks are not extended, the rich won’t really be affected, but the poor and middle class will surely feel it.  Read more here and here.

The truth is that a married couple raising a family is a stabilizing factor that is good for America.  Whether rich or poor, they deserve the family tax breaks.
