The news today is that Judge Walker denied the Prop 8 defense team’s request for a stay of his decision. Hardly surprising, given his rush to make history.
No federal court judgment becomes final until 14 days after the decision, so the 18th is the day by which another stay needs to be entered, either from the 9th Circuit or the Supreme Court, or else more same-sex marriages will happen that may end up being nullified. What a tragedy/travesty.
