BREAKING: Biden Administration Recklessly Allows Women to Receive Harmful, Life-Threatening Abortion Pills By Mail

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that they will allow women to receive abortion pills that cause detrimental harm, sometimes resulting in death, by mail.

These chemical drugs, mifepristone and misoprostol (the first one is generally taken at a doctor’s office and the second one at home) have a complication rate four times that of first trimester surgical abortions, yet the procedure is more lucrative for the abortion industry.

“The Biden administration cares more about padding the wallets of their friends at Planned Parenthood than they do about the safety and health of women,” said Nicole Hudgens, Government Affairs for Family Policy Alliance. “This reckless, all-out push for chemical abortions, especially by mail, is extremely dangerous for women. Despite the fact that abortion-inducing drugs are four times more fatal than surgical abortions, we continue to see the Administration’s push for their expansion of these abortion drugs with little to no safeguards. Women have died from these abortion pills and thousands have suffered life-threatening complications from them. We will not stand in silence while women suffer at the hands of the heartless abortion industry.”

Background

  • Chemical abortions make up to 40-50% of all abortions in America, and with COVID-19, those numbers have only increased.
  • Women who take the abortion pill are at 4 times more risk of painful complications.
  • In 2021, approximately 27,000 women will require surgery to fix a chemical abortion gone wrong.
  • The abortion industry prefers the pills (now 56% of all Planned Parenthood abortions) because they are easy to distribute to many women and for the industry that means one thing: profit.
  • In America, the abortion pills can only be used during the first 10 weeks of a pregnancy.
  • Each state can put laws in place to regulate abortion pills.
