Candi Cushman, education analyst with CitizenLink, said, “It’s unfortunate and sad that — at a time when many students are struggling just to graduate and read at grade level — California has allowed its history classes to be politicized by adult identity politics like this.
“We should be teaching our children that people are deserving of celebration in history books because of their outstanding, worthy accomplishments, regardless of how they identify sexually or otherwise,” she added. “After all, Benjamin Franklin is in history books because he demonstrated that lightening was electricity — not because of his sexual choices.”
