Statement on President Biden’s Executive Orders on Gender

The following may be attributed to Autumn Leva, Vice President for Strategy at Family Policy Alliance:

“If a man can identify himself as a woman at any time, for any reason, with no medical diagnosis – then womanhood is meaningless, and so are women’s opportunities. What’s the point of shattering glass ceilings if men are holding the hammer? But on International Women’s Day, President Biden is using the authority and power of his office—along with our taxpayer funding— to turn men into women. The irony is hard to miss.

“Today’s executive orders sadly prove just how far the President and his inner circle are from the rest of the country. Nearly half the states are advancing legislation to save girls’ sports for biological girls with overwhelming support in public polling. That is going to become a problem for the President when he attempts to enforce this sweeping policy change that he did not have the authority to make. Meanwhile, an unprecedented coalition of state and national lawmakers and organizations have banded together in an initiative called the Promise to America’s Children. The Promise coalition is actively working to oppose policies like the President’s that not only erase women but directly harm children’s minds, bodies and relationships with their parents.  We’re drawing a hard line when it comes to our children, and President Biden’s executive order goes too far.”
