Liberty Institute Creates Texas Values Organization

by Bethany Monk

The Liberty Institute announced Thursday its formation of Texas Values, an organization dedicated to the preservation of faith, family and freedom in the state.

Jonathan Saenz, who has served as an attorney and legislative director for the Liberty Institute will be the president of the new group, which  supports and stands for biblical, Judeo-Christian values, and will work to ensure religious liberties flourish, families prosper and every human life is valued, according to its website.

“As a native Texan, I am blessed to lead the charge for this new, exciting venture and to be an outspoken voice for Texans on the foundational principles at the Capitol and across the state,” Saenz said.

The Liberty Institute began as a small advocacy organization in 1972, and has grown into an influential non-profit law firm, dedicating to defending and restoring religious liberty across the U.S.

Texas Values will continue Liberty Institute’s state-focused efforts, which include policy research and legal analysis, public education of values issues and elections, and grassroots mobilization and testimony before governmental bodies.

Liberty Institute President Kelly Shackelford gives Texas Values his full support.

“I am confident that Texas Values will be among the strongest and most influential voices on these issues,” Shackelford said.
