Another topic raised during the radio program with Sen. Coburn is concern over the appointment of Dr. Ronald Berwick as head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services – a role in which he directs a government agency with a budget bigger than the Pentagon that oversees the health care of nearly one-third of all Americans. Dr. Berwick is an outspoken proponent of health care rationing, publicly applauding the British socialized health care program.
